XML RSS Feeds
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It is an XML-based format that websites use to publish updates — news articles, blog posts, podcast episodes, and more. RSS readers fetch these XML files periodically and show users the latest content without them visiting each website manually.

Key Points to Remember
- RSS is XML — every RSS file is a valid, parseable XML document.
- The channel element contains feed metadata; item elements hold individual entries.
- CDATA sections wrap HTML content inside description to prevent XML parsing conflicts.
- RSS readers fetch the XML file repeatedly to check for new items by comparing guids.
- Atom is a newer XML feed format similar to RSS with a stricter specification.
