The Desktop

What Is the Desktop?

After the computer starts, the first screen you see is called the Desktop. It is the main working area of your computer. Everything you need — files, programs, and settings — is reachable from the desktop.

Example

Think of the desktop like the top of your school desk. Your books, pencils, and notebooks sit on it. The computer desktop works the same way — all your important things sit on it so you can reach them fast.
