Formatting changes how data looks in a cell, without changing the actual value. Good formatting makes a spreadsheet easy to read and understand at a glance.

Common Formatting Options
- Bold / Italic – Makes text stand out
- Fill Colour – Adds background colour to a cell
- Font Colour – Changes the colour of the text
- Borders – Adds lines around cells
- Number Format – Shows numbers as currency, percentage, or date

How to Apply Formatting
- Select the cell or cells you want to format
- Go to the Home tab
- Click the formatting button you need, such as Fill Colour or Bold
- The change appears in the selected cells right away
