MS PowerPoint is a program for making presentations. A presentation is a set of slides shown one after another to explain an idea to an audience. Teachers, students, and businesses use PowerPoint to share information visually.

Parts of the PowerPoint Window
- Slide Pane – The big area in the middle where you build your slide
- Slide Thumbnails – Small slide previews on the left side
- Ribbon – Tabs and buttons at the top, like Home and Insert
- Notes Pane – Space below the slide to write speaker notes

Starting a New Presentation
- Open PowerPoint
- Click Blank Presentation or pick a template design
- A title slide opens automatically
- Click the text boxes and type your title
View Modes
PowerPoint offers different ways to view your slides. Normal View is for editing slides. Slide Sorter shows all slides as small pictures, useful for reordering them. Slide Show plays the full presentation on screen.
