Cyberbullying happens when someone uses the internet to hurt, tease, or scare another person. It can happen through messages, comments, or shared photos. Cyberbullying is never acceptable, and help is always available.

Forms of Cyberbullying

  • Sending mean or hurtful messages
  • Posting embarrassing photos without permission
  • Leaving unkind comments on posts
  • Leaving someone out of online groups on purpose
  • Spreading rumours through chats or social media

If You Witness Cyberbullying

If you see cyberbullying happening to someone else, do not join in. Speak kindly to the person being bullied. Report the behaviour to a trusted adult.

If It Happens to You

  1. Do not reply to the hurtful message
  2. Save or screenshot the message as evidence
  3. Block the person sending the messages
  4. Tell a parent, guardian, or teacher right away

Treat people online the same way you treat them in person. Think before you post or comment. Kind words online build a friendlier internet for everyone.
