Typing Numbers and Symbols
The top row of the keyboard has number keys from 1 to 0. Press these keys directly to type a number. Each number key also has a symbol printed above it.

How to Type a Symbol
Each number key types a symbol when you hold Shift and press it. The symbol sits at the top of the key and the number sits at the bottom.

Common Symbols You Will Use

| . | Full stop / Period | End of sentence, web addresses |

| ! | Exclamation mark | Expresses surprise or importance |
| @ | At symbol | Used in email addresses |
Example: When you write an email address like student@school.com, you use the @ symbol (Shift + 2) and a full stop. Practise typing email addresses to learn symbols.
