Keyboard Rows and Zones
You already know the keyboard types letters and numbers. In Class 2, you learn that the keyboard has rows of keys. Each row has a name. Knowing the rows helps you type faster and more accurately.

The Home Row Is Your Starting Point
Your fingers rest on the home row when you are not typing. The left hand rests on A S D F and the right hand rests on J K L ;. The bumps on F and J help you find the home row without looking down.

Keyboard Zones
Besides rows, the keyboard has zones. Each zone does a different job.

Example: A school has different rooms â a classroom, a library and a sports hall. The keyboard is the same. Each zone is like a room that does a specific job.
