What is the Internet
The Internet is a giant network of millions of computers and devices connected to each other all over the world. It lets people share information, watch videos, send messages, and do much more — from anywhere on Earth.
How Computers Connect
Computers connect to the Internet through cables, telephone lines, or wireless signals called Wi-Fi. An ISP (Internet Service Provider) is a company that gives your home or school the connection to the Internet — like BSNL, Jio, or Airtel.
Devices across the world connect to the Internet and share data with each other
What Do People Use the Internet For?
Internet vs World Wide Web
The Internet is the physical network of cables and connections. The World Wide Web (WWW) is the collection of websites and pages that travel over the Internet. The web is just one part of the Internet — email and video calls also use the Internet but are not the web.
IP Address
Every device on the Internet has a unique address called an IP Address (like 192.168.1.1). It works like a postal address — it tells the Internet exactly where to deliver data.
